Traveling to India for your yoga teacher training is an exciting, life-changing milestone. To ensure your journey to Himalayan Yoga Association in Rishikesh is seamless, relaxing, and stress-free, our admissions team has compiled this definitive pre-arrival checklist.

1. Visa Requirements for India

Most international students can easily obtain an official Indian e-Tourist Visa online via the government portal (indianvisaonline.gov.in). You can select a 30-day, 1-year, or 5-year multiple-entry e-visa depending on your course duration and planned travel. Apply at least 10–14 days prior to your flight departure.

2. How to Reach Himalayan Yoga Association

Our campus is located in Upper Tapovan, Rishikesh:

  • Fly to Dehradun (DED Airport): The closest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, only a 45-minute scenic taxi drive to our ashram. We offer direct pre-arranged taxi pickups.
  • From New Delhi (DEL Airport): You can take a domestic flight to Dehradun (45 minutes), take the fast Vande Bharat express train from New Delhi to Haridwar/Rishikesh (4 hours), or book a direct private taxi (5–6 hours).

3. What to Pack: Clothing & Essentials

We observe noble silence (Mouna) during early morning meditation and late evening hours to cultivate inner peace.

5. Health & Dietary Considerations

All meals served in our dining hall are freshly prepared using filtered water and organic vegetables. If you have specific dietary needs (gluten-free, vegan, or nut allergies), please inform our team upon booking so our chefs can personalize your meals.
