Program Overview
If life has been exhausting lately and you want to escape the daily chaos of life, you have landed at the right place. We welcome you to our 7, 14 & 21-day yoga retreats in Rishikesh. You can select the one that fits you the best. We have built our program as a genuine reset button for burnout. This is the best way to reconnect with your inner self. It is combined with peaceful meditation practices and holistic wellness therapies. The entire retreat is designed to revitalize your entire being. You could be a beginning in the yoga journey. Or you could be deepening an existing practice. Our Rishikesh yoga retreats cater to all experience levels.
Rishikesh is the perfect place for this purpose. Nestled amidst the Himalayan foothills and pine forests, it is rightly called ‘the world's yoga capital’. Come experience authentic yoga in Rishikesh. Surrounded by mountain views & the sacred Ganges, the beauty of it all will make you put your phone down without even realizing it.
Yoga retreats are not one-size-fits-all. Some people need a quick recharge. Others want deep transformation. We have designed three different retreat lengths. Because we know everyone is starting from a different place.
The one-week retreat is our most popular option (and for good reason!). It is long enough to actually unwind. It takes most people 2-3 days just to stop checking work emails compulsively. But it is also short enough that you won't need to negotiate with your boss for a month of leave.
In a week, we focus on building solid foundations. You will practice yoga twice daily. You will learn basic meditation techniques that actually work in real life. And you get introduced to pranayama (breathing exercise) that calms your nervous system. We also throw in some yoga philosophy sessions. These are not the boring lectures, but practical conversations to tackle modern stress.
The best part is that you also have free time. Actual unstructured free time. Walk along the Ganges. Read that book you have been carrying around for months. Take a nap. Revolutionary concept, we know.
Two weeks is not just a longer version of the 7-day retreat. It is fundamentally different because you have time to go deeper without rushing. In week one, you settle in and learn the basics. You can still mentally organize your to-do list back home.
By week two, your body stops fighting the 6am wake-up call. Your mind actually quiets during meditation. You start noticing things. The 14-day program includes more advanced practices. We explore different yoga styles and dive into Ayurveda, one of India's ancient healing traditions. We have also included proper Ayurvedic treatments made for your body type. We organize excursions to local temples & cultural sites. Yoga is not just what happens on the mat. It is understanding a whole way of life.
Fair warning. People who do the 14-day retreat often tell us they wish they had signed up for 21-days.
Our 3-week retreat is for those who are serious about change. It is built to fundamentally shift how you live your life. It is the change you are waiting for. Science backs this up. It takes about 21 days to form new habits and start rewiring neural pathways. So this retreat will not just teach you yoga. It is giving you enough time for these practices to become part of who you are - not just something you do.
You will practice multiple yoga styles with. You will get our most experienced teachers for Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin, restorative. You will learn the full spectrum. Meditation sessions go from introductory techniques to advanced practices. We cover yoga philosophy comprehensively. And the Ayurvedic component is extensive. This includes consultations, personalized treatment plans, learning about your dosha.
People who complete 21 days go home differently. You will see not only spiritual but practical differences. They maintain their practice. They handle stress better. They have made friends from around the world. They know themselves better. It is a big commitment, yes. But sadly, so is staying stuck where you are.
Besides the obvious reason of being by the Ganges, your yoga retreat in Rishikesh will give you a lot more. You will practice traditional Hatha & Ashtanga yoga styles. The intensity and depth of asana practice will be tailored to the duration of your choice. You will learn proper alignment principles. By the time you leave, you will have developed strength and flexibility. You will have cultivated balance throughout your body. At the same time, you will experience deep physical relaxation.
Our meditation classes are thoughtfully designed. After each one, you will feel your mind will get quieter than before. Your nervous system will feel a lot calmer. Throughout your retreat, you will explore Kundalini and Chakra meditation practices. This will build harmony between body, mind & spirit. You will learn multiple techniques. These are kundalini meditation, chakra work, yoga nidra, mindfulness. Because different approaches work for different brains. We have also added some additional calming practices.
Pranayama is the ancient science of breath control. We teach various breathing techniques as part of our retreats. We teach you how to use breath as a tool. You will learn how to use it to calm your nervous system. It also helps increase energy and mental clarity. These techniques are surprisingly powerful. Many participants say pranayama becomes their go-to tool when they are back home and stress hits.
Yoga philosophy sessions explore the actual texts and concepts behind the physical practice. These are the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, yamas and niyamas. These simply translates to ethical principles. We keep these discussions practical and applicable. We don’t give esoteric lectures for which you need a Sanskrit dictionary to follow. These sessions provide context and meaning to your physical practice.
Ayurveda is one of India's oldest healing traditions. And our retreats incorporate authentic practices. Depending on your retreat length, you will receive various treatments. We customize these to your dosha (body constitution). These are not spa treatments but are actual therapeutic interventions based on Ayurvedic principles. These work to detoxify your body and bring balance to the body's natural systems. It facilitates deep healing. Treatments we use are therapeutic massages, herb use & other time-honored Ayurvedic practices.
Diet is vital for your retreat experience. We give you sattvic vegetarian meals 3 times a day. This means pure freshly prepared food. They will be made of vegetables, legumes, grains, fruits. No meat, no eggs, minimal processed ingredients. Sattvic diet supports your yoga practice thoroughly.
